Wabanaki Sweetgrass Basket Pin Cushion matches measures 3 1/4" tall with

measures 3 1/4" tall with a diameter of 3 1/2" and an opening of 1 5/8"

When I first spotted this wonderful little carved wooden boot I guessed it was a snuff box

and a small image of Shoulao

but the book itself is in excellent condition

with some loss of paint

Wabanaki Sweetgrass Basket Pin Cushion matches measures 3 1/4" tall withI'm becoming a sucker for a sweet pin cushion, in addition to a nice Northeast Coast Native basket, so of course I love this little combination of the two! I believe this one dates to the early 20th century, with the basket woven of sweet grass on a naturally green dyed splint ash structure and the pin cushion a rosy pink velvet. It has seen some use, with small holes in the velvet, but has plenty of years of use in it yet. 2 3 4" diameter x 1 3 8"
