Thanks to the nature of XIV, which kind of encompasses everything, some characters, like Shinryu, were represented by XIV instead of V
Each character card has a Lore value (the diamond pips on the bottom right side), and each turn they can either challenge opposing cards to banish them from the board or go questing for Lore to take one step closer to victory
In other words, they're more Special Guests or Secret Lair than traditional reprints - and, one could argue, even more extreme
Not to mention, many of these new team-ups are dual ink/color, so certain team cards will only run in certain decks
Still, its cool to see how a franchise many people love was handled in MTG form, and it gives me hope that future sets like Avatar: The Last Airbender might actually hold my attention (no Commander decks for Spider-Man !)
