Battlebond was meant to evoke arena combat with strict rules, and this card really gets the point across

This card works very well in Commander decks that dont let the mana empty from the mana pool, like Kruphix, God of Horizons, or cards that let you untap your permanents, like Seedborn Muse or Wilderness Reclamation

While you can argue that MTG's most popular commanders are blue, and therefore run islands, you cant justify the chance of not getting to attack with the commander you spend your whole game trying to play if your opponent happens to not be on the right colors for you

A 2/1 for two isnt a rate that gets anyone excited, but Earthshaker Khenra can put a ton of pressure on your opponent

In other words, once that permanent dies, it's exiled, too
